This depicts Paddy’s famous Austin Healey Sprite “RAM 35” Paddy bought this car from Daniel Richmond at Downton who had hillclimbed it quite successfully. Paddy Gaston continued its development.

Paddy Gaston gained a good reputation as a tuner of Austin Healy Sprites.

His one sprite, seen in the picture opposite did indeed hold a secret.  This is Daniel Richmond of Downton fame’s Sprite RAM 35.  Sold in 1960 to Paddy Gaston, it is not entirely clear what tuning went on after it was sold.

Anyway, this well known competitive Sprite proved to be an excellent advertising piece for Paddy Gaston who went from strength to strength.
