As Paddy Hopkirk was to the rallying world, so John Rhodes was to the racing fraternity, and as such the legendary Mini-pedaler offerd his own range of tuning equipment.

John Rhodes seems to have been far more focused on his driving than his business interests in "Autospeed" as this company was never a major player in either the tuning or accessory market.

They did however offer some very nice equipment. The most notable of which is probably the range of adjustable steering equipment featuring what I am fairly sure are the first set of Rose Jointed adjustable tie bars ever offered to the general public. These first apear in a catalogue dated 1967.

I have met John on a good few occasions & have always found him to be one of the most enthusiastic & likeable people in the whole Mini-World.

Reproduced below are a couple of Autospeed catalogues. The first is from 1967, the second is an extract from a Wooding catalogue from Germany.

John Rhodes Autospeed Catalogue (1967)

This is the most complete Autospeed catalogue I have ever seen. Built up in the popular loose leaf style it features some cracking accessories & tuning equipment including suspension mods, steering wheels & a range of Alloy wheels too.

Thanks to my good friend Andreras Klein for supplying this copy.

John Rhodes Autospeed Catalogue (earlier than 1967)

Exctract from an Autospeed catalogue supplied by Wooding in Germany.
