
These carbs were primarily designed for use on highly tuned racing engines but with their dedicated AEC181 manifold they were also a popular road going modification. Although by the time these sets were produced the HS4 was available the H series remained popular with the Mini fraternity as the H4's would fit straight onto a Cooper or S manifold. Of course when rallying in Grp 2. the regulations stated that the standard manifold had to be retained too!
